He holds a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep credential and specializes in Class III creosote diagnosis, that thick, tar-like buildup that glazes flue liners and turns a normal fire into a slow-motion hazard. Off the ladder, Mike restores vintage motorcycles in a garage near the Towamencin Township line and will talk your ear off about 1970s Honda wiring if you let him.
Dana R. - Senior Installer, Liners & Rebuilds
Dana handles the jobs that require tearing out a failed flue liner or rebuilding a spalling crown, the kind of work where you find out whether someone actually measured twice. She’s installed DuraFlex and HeatShield systems across Montgomery and Bucks counties for eleven years, and she’s particular about mortar mixes in freeze-thaw climates like ours, where water gets into brick, expands, and pops the face off by spring. Dana trained originally as a mason in Norristown before she specialized in chimney systems. She keeps a notebook of every liner offset she’s ever wrestled through, and she’s up to 340-something entries. Her dog, a suspicious mutt named Contractor, rides shotgun to estimates.
James K. - Service Coordinator
James is the voice you get when you call (267) 327-4785 at 10 PM on a Sunday because you smelled something odd from the fireplace. He’s been with us since 2019, which means he’s booked roughly 12,000 appointments and still remembers the names of repeat customers in Hatfield and North Wales without glancing at a screen. He writes every quote himself, line by line, and won’t send it until the scope, the price, and the warranty language match what Clause 1 of the Haven Standard requires: have it in writing before anyone rolls a truck. James grew up in Lansdale, graduated from North Penn, and coaches youth basketball at the YMCA on Saturdays. He hates hold music and refuses to use a phone tree.
Tomas B. - Apprentice Technician
Tomas joined us in 2023 after four years in residential HVAC, which means he already knew how to read a house and not track mud through it. He’s finishing his CSIA certification while working full-time under Mike’s supervision, learning to identify cracked flue tiles, proper chimney cap overhang, and the difference between a cricket that sheds water and one that collects it. Tomas is the one who climbs the steeper pitches in Collegeville and Skippack while Mike handles the camera work below. He speaks Spanish at home with his family in Souderton and is slowly teaching the rest of us the correct names for tools we’ve been mispronouncing for years.
