Chimney Liner Installation After Clay Tile Collapse, Towamencin Township
The Towamencin homeowner scheduled a routine sweep. Our camera scan found a clay tile that had cracked and shifted, partially blocking the flue and creating a gap where combustion gases could enter the chimney cavity. We stopped the sweep, showed them the footage, and wrote a price for liner replacement rather than trying to patch clay that was already failed. We installed a DuraFlex 316Ti stainless liner with insulation, sized to the appliance. The old clay came out in pieces through the thimble. The new liner runs continuous from insert to cap.
